How many titles do you stock?
We typically stock more than 25,000 titles in our warehouse and have quick access to more than 200,000 titles from hundreds of different publishers.

Do you sell anything besides books?
Definitely! We offer a wide range of supplemental classroom materials including digital content subscriptions; hands-on resources to enhance learning in the classroom; teacher resources like teacher guides, lesson plans, worksheets and more; Common Core Text Sets with Teacher Guides; take home customized backpacks; storage bins and baskets; and book and video collections. What type of publishers do you work with?
We work with small, large, and every size in between. AKJ Education has relationships with more than 500 publishing houses from large multi-national houses to niche publishers who focus on a specific field, topic, or age group. See a list of some of our leading publishing partners.

PRICING, SHIPPING & PAYMENT

Is there a minimum purchase?
No, there are never any minimums when you place an order with us. Our everyday 30% off retail pricing starts with the first item in your order.

Do you offer any discounts?
Our everyday discount on most books and classroom libraries is 30% off retail. We also have thousands of bargain books that can be up to 90% off retail. To learn more about our discounts and special offers, sign up to receive our emails or connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Note: These discounts typically do not apply to digital content subscriptions.

How can I pay for my items?
In addition to all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), we also accept school purchase orders. Purchase orders must be received prior to order completion.

We want to make AKJ Education an approved/contracted vendor. Do you offer contract pricing?
Yes. Please contact us at 800-922-6066 or by email for more information so we can discuss your specific needs.

What are the payment terms of school purchase orders?
Payment terms for school purchase orders are net 30 days. Balances may be settled by AHC, a check, or major credit card.

What do you charge for shipping?
Our current shipping policy is:

A minimum charge of $7.50 OR 10% of the net price of your order. Freight charges will be prepaid and included as part of your invoice. We do offer free shipping for orders over $5,000.

When will I receive my order?
Orders typically ship within 4-6 weeks of entry into our system. Note that some items may be delayed waiting on additional stock. If items are pending after 6 weeks, we will be happy to ship in-stock items and send the remaining stock once available. Out-of-stock titles will be backordered automatically. Backorders that cannot be filled within 6 months of order date will be canceled unless you instruct otherwise. To make the most of your funds and minimize delays, we recommend providing a list of alternative titles that can replace any out-of-print or temporarily unavailable titles. Your packing slip will indicate which titles have been put on backorder. Should any titles be canceled, this will be noted on your invoice.

How are online credit card orders processed?
Credit card purchases will be charged when the order is placed, and items will be shipped when we receive your complete order from the publisher(s). AKJ Education is committed to your privacy and secure transactions, so no credit card information is ever kept on file.

I can’t find what I’m looking for. What do I do next?
If you can’t find your item(s) in the catalog or on the website, contact us or call 800-922-6066. We will either help you find what you are looking for or create a custom solution just for you.

I need help selecting titles that match my curriculum. Can AKJ Education help?
Yes! From individual titles to collections to our curriculum-aligned resources, we’re happy to help you select the best titles to meet your curriculum needs. Complete our Request for Collection Curation to work with our experienced team of collection development librarians.

How do I get a custom quote?
We are always happy to help you put together a free custom quote! To make your request, fill out the quote request form or call one of our Customer Specialists at 800-922-6066.

How quickly do you complete price quotes?
Free price quotes are typically completed within 2 business days, oftentimes the same day. You can also prepare a wishlist through our online store by selecting the items you want and saving them to a list. That list can then be emailed to the appropriate contact in your school for approval.

What is the return policy at AKJ Education?
Returnability will be determined on a title by title basis and will be subject to a 10% re-stocking fee. To ensure proper credit, all books returned must:

  • Have been purchased within the last 90 days
  • Be in clean, uncirculated, resalable condition
  • Include a return authorization; please call or email customer service to make arrangements.
  • Order discrepancies and/or damaged products must be reported within 60 days of receipt to be eligible to receive credit or replacement product. Marked, stickered, stamped, or otherwise altered materials are not included.

Unfortunately, eBooks and digital content subscriptions are not returnable.

Who do I contact for help with digital content subscriptions?
Our customer service staff is your first line of defense and ready to answer your questions. Contact us or call 800-922-6066 Monday through Friday between 9AM and 5PM Eastern Time. After hours—or during particularly busy periods during the work day—you can leave a message and we’ll get back to you within one business day.

How can I track the status of my order?
We are here to help with that information. Simply contact our customer service staff at 800-922-6066 and they will be happy to provide all tracking information. If you placed your order online and have a registered online account, you can login to your account to find out the status of your order under Order/Invoice Tracking.

How can I login to my account?
To login to your account, visit My Account on our website. You will need your email and password. Can’t remember your password? No problem. It’s easy to request a new one, which will be sent to you via email within minutes.

Do you have a local sales representative in my area?
We have local sales representatives in most major geographies throughout the United States to help with all of your classroom needs. Use our request form to help us identify the perfect person to help with your inquiry.

Are you a sole source vendor?
Yes, we have proprietary lines—products you can only find at AKJ Education—and some of our book collections are not available through other sources. Browse our proprietary collections or download our sole source letter.

IMPACT OF COVID-19

How has COVID-19 impacted the publishing industry?
The global nature of today’s publishing industry means it may take some time to resolve the long-term effects of the pandemic. Some of the issues publishers are facing include supply chain challenges with securing paper, printing time, warehouse staffing, and export issues, all of which translate into longer lead times for printed materials to make their way to our customers.

Isn’t the pandemic nearing a close?
While publishers are making strides towards a return to “normal,” globally, the industry is continuing to experience supply chain issues as a direct result of the COVID-19 crisis. AKJ Education is committed to working with publishers to offer titles as they become available for sale.
